Spoilers/warnings (if applicable) View of Meifu.
Meifu never changed. It was eternally spring, the cherry blossoms were always in bloom. They filled the air with their sweet scent, their fallen petals blanketed the ground. The shinigami weren't the only residents that never aged. The trees, the plants, the stone buildings, all remained static and frozen.
So it was really unsurprising how quickly, how eagerly, everyone left for their assignments on Earth. Winter in Hokkaido, fall in Kyoto, summer on the beaches near Okinawa.
Even charged with carrying out their somber tasks, at least then they could see something other than the frozen perfection they called home.
Title: Gift Giving
Spoilers/warnings (if applicable) Cuteness
Sometimes gifts popped up on peoples desks in the Shokan division. Their timing was uncanny, coming just when the recipient was at a low. The mysterious distributor of the simple gifts was both the best and the worst kept secret in the department.
When Hisoka was trying to acclimate to his new knowledge of Muraki and his own death, books wound up on his desk.
Confused, he searched out Tatsumi, explaining about the books. With a quieting motion, Tatsumi lead Hisoka to the back of office, had him watch as Tsuzuki left another present on his desk before heading home.
Spoilers/warnings (if applicable) Slight spoilers for the teams vacation.
Tsuzuki really couldn't hold his liquor. Everyone know this from other times they had been out drinking. He would drink and then sing old folk songs at karaoke, much to everyone s' amusement. But, they were on vacation, so what could a few drinks hurt?
“It's so hot. Melting....” Tsuzuki mumbled, stripping down to go soak in the onsen.
Tatsumi and Watari both looked away quickly, faces flushing red even over the alcohol.
“Bad Yutaka! Tsuzuki is a friend!” Watari yelped as Tatsumi waved images from his head.
Tsuzuki glanced back at them, wondering what was keeping them.
Spoilers/warnings (if applicable) Angsty Hisoka backstory.
He remembered. Remembered being locked away, hidden from sight, for forgetting and using his powers. It was his punishment for being different, shaming the family.
As the heir to the ancient family line he could not be different, could not be anything but normal. He was trained in the way of martial arts, archery and kendo, all befitting a proper heir to the Kurosaki name.
That was why, it was so hard to use his gifts even as a shinigami, far from his family's reach. Every time he used them, he was back in the dark of the cellar, alone.
Spoilers/warnings (if applicable) Fluff! Hints of tsu/soka
It was almost legend, Tsuzuki and his sweet tooth. Cakes, pastries, anything that was considered a dessert was soon demolished if he was nearby.
Watari used his love of sweets to get him to keep trying out new versions of his sex change potion. It was yet to work, but as long as there were sweets, he had a test subject.
Tatsumi used them as a motivation tool, getting Tsuzuki to turn in paperwork on time and increasing productivity by a significant amount.
Hisoka had other ideas. Giving Tsuzuki frosted sweets was just a good excuse to lick him clean.
